Babylights use much finer sections for a softer, almost childlike shimmer that is subtle up close. Balayage, painted by hand, places light through the mid-lengths and ends instead. Many of our favorite results combine techniques — foils around the face, painting through the back — and your stylist will explain what each would look like on your hair before any color is mixed.

How often will I need my highlights refreshed?
A full or partial foil typically wants refreshing every eight to twelve weeks, depending on how close to the root we lift and how much contrast there is with your natural color. Between visits, a gloss appointment revives tone and shine in under an hour. Your stylist will suggest an honest schedule at your first appointment — one built around your hair, not around filling the diary.
Keeping blonde bright in the Florida sun
Southwest Florida is generous with sunshine, and sunshine is hard on toner. We recommend a sulfate-free color-safe shampoo, a weekly bonding or moisture mask, and a toning wash once brassiness begins to creep in. Before the pool or the Gulf, wet your hair with fresh water and comb through a leave-in conditioner — hair that is already saturated absorbs far less chlorine and salt. Should I book a partial or a full highlight?
A partial if the change you want is concentrated on top and around the face; a full if you want brightness throughout, including underneath. Foils give the strongest, most uniform lift, which is why they remain the tool of choice for a genuinely blonder result. Can highlights help with gray hair?
Yes, for the first scattering of gray: foils add brightness that softens the silver without committing you to all-over color. As the gray increases, gray blending, which weaves highlights, lowlights and a gloss through it so regrowth arrives softly, is usually the better plan. We will talk through both in consultation.
