Planned, not scrambled

Wedding Hair in Fort Myers

For wedding hair in Fort Myers, Canterbury & Co. Salon, inside Gulf Coast Town Center, plans the whole look around your date: color, cut, extensions and smoothing from about nine months out, a hair trial two to three months before the wedding, and styling for you and your bridal party on the morning itself. Founder Alli Canterbury, a former Wella Professionals color educator, leads our wedding consultations.

Wedding photos last a lifetime, but the styling only lasts a day — the color, the condition, the length underneath it is what actually needs the lead time. A wedding hair plan built around your date beats a scramble the week before, every time.

A real timeline, not a single appointment

Wedding-ready hair is a nine-month project when done properly — color staged healthily if you're making a real change, a trial run close enough to the date to actually match it, and day-of styling planned around your whole timeline, not squeezed in. We've written the honest version out in full: the nine-month wedding hair timeline. Bringing a full bridal party? here's how to plan the morning, and for the mother of the bride, here's the honest brief.

Alli Canterbury, on wedding consultations

Founder Alli Canterbury brings genuine experience to wedding planning specifically — not just the technical color and cutting work, but the unhurried, insightful consultation that a once-in-a-lifetime timeline actually needs, mapping color, cut, and extensions against your real wedding date rather than a generic menu. Wondering when to book the trial itself? here's the honest window.

What we do for weddings

The hair before the morning, and the morning itself

Each part of a wedding plan here sits with the people certified in it: color with the Canterbury Color Team, extensions and smoothing with the stylists certified in each, all mapped in one consultation against your date.

Color that photographs like you

The Canterbury Color Team specializes in Wella Professionals color, from Shinefinity glosses to dimensional balayage. A bigger change, such as going noticeably lighter or correcting old color, is staged from about nine months out so it arrives gently. The last full color appointment lands six to eight weeks before the wedding, and a gloss two weeks out puts tone and shine back for the photographs. Softening gray for the day? Gray blending looks polished without looking freshly done.

Length and fullness, with extensions

Extensions are installed by Alli Canterbury, Kristen Grzegorczyk and Tori Knox, each a Bellami Master Certified stylist, and the extension consultation is complimentary. For a wedding they belong early: the consultation and color match around nine months out, installation by about six months so they settle into their six-to-eight-week maintenance rhythm, and a maintenance visit six to eight weeks before the date. They are priced by the look you want, confirmed at that consultation. More on hair extensions here.

Frizz-proofing for a Florida wedding

Humidity is the one guest nobody invited. If frizz is your worry, we offer three smoothing systems, each with its own certified stylists: Wella Pro+ SmoothFiller (Tori Knox and Julie Bockhorst), Keratin Complex (Kristen Grzegorczyk) and Brazilian Blowout (Ashleigh Maki). Trial yours around six months out, so you know how your hair responds and how long the effect lasts on your head; a first-ever smoothing treatment never belongs in the last two weeks. Here's how we choose between the three.

Styling for you and the whole party

Updos and special-occasion styling are on our menu, for you and for everyone in the party. We can plan multiple appointments the same morning. Tell us the full party size when you book, mothers and grandmothers included, so the schedule holds enough time and enough hands, with a buffer before anyone needs to leave. Wearing your natural curls? Nicole Spaude, our Director Stylist, specializes in curly hair. And for the rehearsal dinner, or a wedding you are attending as a guest, a blowout is its own service on our menu.

The timeline

Your wedding hair timeline, at a glance

  • Nine months out: the consultation. Say the date out loud. Bigger color changes and real changes of cut start here, and so does the extensions conversation.
  • Six months out: staged color continues, extensions (if they are in the plan) are in and settling, and this is the window to trial a smoothing treatment.
  • Three months out: the color should be at its destination, and glosses and strengthening treatments build condition and shine.
  • Two to three months out: the hair trial. Bring the veil or hairpiece, any jewelry that sits near the hairline and photos of the finished look; if the ceremony and reception call for different styles, a trial can plan for both.
  • Six to eight weeks out: the last full color appointment and a proper cut, plus extension maintenance if you wear them.
  • Two weeks out: a gloss, a dusting of the ends, a root touch-up if the timing demands one, and nothing brave.
  • The wedding morning: styling for you and your party, with time to spare before photos.

Closer than nine months? The timeline compresses more gracefully than you would think, and knowing what to skip is part of the plan. The full version, phase by phase, is in the nine-month wedding hair timeline, and the reasoning behind the trial window is in how far out to book your trial.

Good to know

Wedding hair questions, answered straight

Where can I get my wedding hair done in Fort Myers?

Canterbury & Co. Salon, inside Gulf Coast Town Center on the Fort Myers–Estero line, plans wedding hair around your date rather than the week before it: color by the Canterbury Color Team, extensions by Alli Canterbury, Kristen Grzegorczyk and Tori Knox, each a Bellami Master Certified stylist, smoothing by brand-certified stylists, a hair trial two to three months out, and styling for you and your bridal party on the morning. Founder Alli Canterbury, a former Wella Professionals color educator, leads wedding consultations, and the salon holds 4.9 stars across 174 Google reviews as of October 2026.

Will my wedding hair hold up in Florida humidity?

It can, if humidity is planned for rather than left to chance. Tell us the venue and the time of day, because an outdoor Florida wedding asks different questions of a style than an air-conditioned reception hall, and the trial two to three months out is where you see how the style holds. If frizz is a constant fight, trial a smoothing treatment around six months before the date: we offer Wella Pro+ SmoothFiller, Keratin Complex and Brazilian Blowout, each with its own certified stylists, and the consultation decides which one suits your hair.

When should I book a wedding hair trial?

Two to three months before the wedding is the honest sweet spot — early enough that if a color or cut plan needs a staged approach, there is time for it, but close enough that your hair's length and condition on trial day genuinely matches wedding day. Booking a trial the week of the wedding leaves no room to adjust if something isn't right.

Should I get my hair colored right before the wedding?

Not right before — give color at least one to two weeks to settle, so it looks like you rather than looking freshly done in every photo. If you're planning a bigger color change (going noticeably lighter, or correcting old color), that's exactly the kind of work that benefits from starting nine months out, not nine days.

Do you do hair for the whole bridal party, or just the bride?

Both — bridal party bookings are common, and we can plan multiple appointments the same morning if that is what your timeline needs. Mention the full party size when you book so the schedule holds enough time.

What if I want extensions for my wedding hair?

Extensions for a wedding are usually planned earlier than the trial itself, since tape-in, weft or K-tip methods each need their own lead time and a fitting appointment. If length or fullness is part of your wedding vision, mention it as early as possible — ideally as part of the nine-month timeline, not a last-minute add-on.
